The PERFECT iced matcha latte recipe - sugar free, DF, GF, and full of flavor!!

The PERFECT summer iced matcha latte recipe - sugar free, dairy free and full of flavor!!

I’ll be honest, I refuse to buy matcha lattes from chain cafes because of the high sugar content. Even if you ask for a sugar free version, the barista milk used is still high in sugar. The benefit of making it at home? You can control the sweetness, the ingredients, it cost wayyyy less and tastes even better with high quality matcha powder!! No hidden surprises. Just how I like it!

So why iced over hot matcha? I of course love a hot matcha, but it’s summer and it does’t get any better than sipping an iced matcha latte in the sun for an afternoon or morning pick me up. Not to mention, preparing matcha powder cold allows more of the naturally sweet flavors to pop out!

I’ll show you how to skip the cafe drive thru and the high price that youre used to. Just follow the recipe below 👇

Iced Matcha Latte Prep:

One of the biggest things to keep in mind, especially when making an ice matcha latte, is the dreaded clumpy clumps. Matcha clumps up naturally because of the static electricity, super fine particle size and because the cold temperature keeps the powder from dissolving well compared to hot water.

It’s an honest indicator of high quality, albeit not the only one, which is one of the many reasons I choose matcha kari (matcha.com) (more on that later).

Of course, the clumps won’t hurt you, it’s just not the preferred texture per se. You can be sure to achieve a uniform matcha powder by simply sifting your powder before pepping the iced matcha.

Best Matcha Latte, Iced | Matcha Latte Ingredients

Time to Make: 3min

Ingredients:

  • 5 oz non-Dairy Milk of choice (my favorite is Malk)

  • 1oz filtered water

  • 2 tsp Matcha Powder from Matcha.com

  • 2 drops of monk fruit (optional)

  • Big ice Cubes

Iced Matcha Latte Recipe | Matcha Latte Healthy Directions

  1. Choose a cute bowl (makes it more fun, right?) to mix the matcha green tea powder (about 3 little scoops) with the filtered water – just enough to form a paste at the bottom.

  2. Use an Electric Frother to ensure all matcha is fully dissolved, like a thick syrup almost

  3. Add non-dairy milk, and sweetener if any, and froth again.

  4. Add this delicious matcha latte to a glass of Ice Cubes

  5. 30 seconds later, you are sipping that matcha green tea like the boss babe that you are and riding that nice matcha buzz 😜

To read about all the healthy benefits of matcha and how to tell if your matcha is high quality, check this post out! My favorite brand (as you can tell) is Matcha Kari (matcha.com) because it hits all these high-quality points and is sourced from Uji, Japan (the matcha capital of the world).

I’m coming out with a blog post on the benefits of matcha versus coffee and when I choose matcha versus coffee (hint hint, it has to do with my cycle and adrenal fatigue). If you like these types of informational posts with recipes, comment below! I always love feedback :)
