Grüvi review: alcohol-free beers and wines that ACTUALLY taste good!

Today I’m sharing my thoughts on a start-up beverage company that offers healthy and trendy alcohol-free beers and Prosecco. It’s been such a game changer for my workflow and waking up free of sunday scaries!

I should start by saying that  I’m a firm believer in all aspects of balance - whether it’s with the food on your plate, exercise, drinking, etc. - I’m not opposed to a good cocktail (or two 😜). However, there are definitely times I’d rather wake up fresh for an early workout class, have a productive Sunday, or just don’t feel like drinking. Nothing wrong with that!

The pandemic has changed many lives and with the increased uncertainty, I’m doing everything in my power to keep my immune system strong and minimize anxiety. That being said, my hangovers will be the first to agree that I feel better staying away from alcohol right now.

I also won’t lie in saying that my desire not to drink at social gatherings often makes me feel like the buzz-kill at the (social distanced) party.

Fortunately, over the years non-alcoholic drinks have started to become more popular. Restaurants are offering kombucha on tap, and creative mocktails on menus are making it easy to stay sober.

All this being said, I was recently introduced to a company called alcohol free beverage company named Gruvi makes a variety of top notch craft beers (IPA, STOUT, WEISSE, LAGER), a fantastic Prosecco and they also have a new bubbly rosé coming to market soon!!

Specifics about each Bev:

One of their best selling beers is their non-alcoholic IPA - it’s brewed with citra, galaxy and mosaic hops which give it a nice, crisp and earthy craft beer taste. For reference, most NA beers are de-alcoholized, meaning the beer is brewed fully and then the alcohol is removed either with high heat or a vacuum. At Grüvi, they use a unique brewing process called "Arrested Fermentation", which uses special yeasts that don't let the alcohol set in. This keeps the flavours of the hops fresh and more prominent.

The winner for me, however, is the Gruvi Prosecco. Made with Chardonnay grapes. It’s gluten and sulfate free with no sugar added and comes in the cutest glass bottle!
